Female Founders: Startup Funding Insights from Fast & Curious Circle #14
Building a startup takes more than a great idea. Choosing the right funding, preparing for investor conversations and building a strong network are all part of the journey.
These topics were at the heart of Fast & Curious Circle #14, where around 50 participants gathered at BayBG in Munich for an evening of discussions on startup funding, entrepreneurship and networking.
Choosing the Right Startup Funding
BayBG Investment Managers Veronika von Dehn and Alicia Liebl introduced BayBG's financing solutions and explained how different financing options support different business models and growth ambitions.
One message came across clearly: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to startup funding. While highly scalable startups are often a strong fit for venture capital, companies pursuing steady, organic growth may benefit from other financing solutions. Equally important is finding an investor whose approach matches the company's long-term goals.
What Founders Can Learn
Britta Degenkolbe (HER SPACE) and Sophie Thurner (beatvest) shared honest insights into building their companies. They spoke about the realities of entrepreneurship, the importance of being well prepared for investor meetings and the value of strong networks and trusted sparring partners.
As Britta Degenkolbe put it:
"You really have to be passionate about what you're building."
Networking Within the Startup Ecosystem
The evening concluded with an informal networking session, giving participants the opportunity to exchange ideas and make new connections.
Many thanks to Mareike Wächter and Silvia Sommer for organizing the event, and to Britta Degenkolbe (HERSPACE), Sophie Thurner (beatvest), Veronika von Dehn and Alicia Liebl for sharing their valuable insights.
